Our History

NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and his business partner DL Wallace are the co-founders of Prime Prep Academy. The inspiration for the school came from a desire they had to make a lasting impact on the lives of youth in underserved areas. Therefore, they embarked on a mission to visit some of the best schools in the nation to learn what they were doing right. This included trips to private schools, boarding schools and exemplary public schools. Afterwards, Sanders and Wallace assembled a top-notch academic team to shape the pedagogy of the school. With a competent and passionate team in place Prime Prep academy was presented to the State Board of Education and was promptly approved. The vision of transforming lives and communities could now become a reality. However, Sanders and Wallace knew the school needed one final component to make it complete.

Prime Prep Academy offers its student body the opportunity to compete in varsity and junior varsity level sports including football, baseball and basketball. There is no longer a need for students to sacrifice competing in the sports they love while attending a charter school. They can now have the best of both worlds: a superior educational experience and an equally superior athletic program. Sanders and Wallace envisioned a school that would offer students excellence in every aspect and Prime Prep Academy does that and more!
